Brownie of the Week: Cassie

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Cassie might not be the best singer in the world but her beauty can't be denied. Instead of music, I definitely feel like she makes a gorgeous model. She is the the covergirl for Idoll's Fall/Winter 2011 issue where she's discusses her new album. I absolutely love her makeup on the cover, Im such a smokey eye fan. The nude lip that she's rocking is awesome and she cant go wrong with the hair. Cheers to you Cassie for being the Brownie of the Week.

Happy 18th Birthday Rob

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Today, my oldest son turns 18 years old and I'm so happy. He's growing up and I have to cut the umbilical cord lol. This morning I was very emotional because he's my first born of course but in this day and time alot of young men dont live to see 18. It especially hits home for me because his father was murdered when he was one year old. So I was forced to play both roles and I would do it all over again. I stay on top on him because I want him to be a responsible young man and to stay on the right path. I can be a bit overprotective at times but its because I want the best for him. Happy Birthday Rob and I thank the Lord everyday for allowing me to be your Mother. Somebody pass me a tissue lol.

My Favorite Red Lipsticks and Lipglosses

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

sAs you all already know Im a red lip lover, I love to wear it because it make me feel naughty lol. My Grandmother used to tell me that red lipstick is for hookers lol. She's so old school, well Im a definitely not a hooker but Im without a doubt a red lip rocker. So here are a couple of my favorites, check them out and let me know what you think. My favorite red lippie of all time is Ruby Woo I own three of them. I will admit that Behold A Lady by Makeup by Tierra is giving it some stiff competition.  My favorite red lipgloss is Fiery by Stila holds down it's long lasting annd the red color is sickening.

TAG: Desert Island Lips

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

I was tagged by Shana Janelle to participate in the Desert Island Lips Challenge. This was very hard for me because I have a couple of lipsticks and lipglosses that I cant live without. Since I had to pick just one, I picked my Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Sugar. I love this lipgloss because I can wear it with anything and I love the way it makes my lips look fuller and they tingle alot.

*Sorry for looking so crazy in the pics I had just returned from a long weekend at Great Wolf Lodge.

Here are the rules of the tag:

"If you could only have one lipstick or gloss for the rest of your life what would it be?"
This is a TAG:
You are going to be cast away on a desert island, but you must maintain your fabulousness. The trick is, it can only be a lip product. What ONE lip colour could you happily live with for the rest of your days? This isn’t about your favourite or what’s haute at the moment. It should be something that doesn’t require lip liner or mixing with some other colour to make it look good. This should be a colour that you don’t have to think twice about because you know it will never fail to make you look flirty, bold or seductive every time you wear it. What would it be?
Here are the rules:
  1. Choose your Desert Island Lip colour (lipstick, stain, lip pencil, OR gloss). Only one, please
  2. Tell us why you’ve picked it (what makes it special, timeless, or the bomb)
  3. Post a photo of yourself wearing the lipstick . The photo should be your full face
  4. *You may only use these other types of products in your photo:
    1. Foundation/concealer/powder
    2. Groomed brows
    3. Mascara
    4. Desert Island Lip product
    5. Tag 3 other beauty bloggers
*No paintpots, eyeshadows, eyeliner, blush, contour, highlighters or additional lip liners. Just K.I.S.S :o ).

I tag the following:

Wet n Wild : Dreamweaver Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palettes

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

I have been on the hunt for these eyeshadow palettes for about a month now they were released in mid July. I went to every drug store in my area and I even looked for them went to Charlotte, NC with no luck. I was on Twitter on day and one of my followers stated that they had them in her area. Needless to say I asked if she could pick them up for me because I had to have them. She agreed and I got the package yesterday so I wanted to share my review and swatches with you. ****REVIEW****
After swatching all of the palettes I think that I like the "Dancing In The Clouds" the best. The browbone and crease colors are dupes for MAC's Expensive Pink and Stars and Rockets. The "We're Blasting Off" palette is nice also I like the pretty pink brownbone color. The "Fly Me To The Moon" palette has a gorgeous blue that is the star out of the three. The "Earth Looks Small From Here" palette has two colors that I like both of the greens. "Bright Idea" is a palette for those that arent afraid of color, the colors are bright and had great color payoff. "Enter A New Realm" disappointed me I thought the red would be very pigmented like it looks but when I swatched it is was very faint. The silver and black colors are average as well.

Check out these cute shoes that I found on Victoria Secret

Brownie Style: Garcelle Beauvais

I absolutely love this color blocking look that Garcelle Beauvais wore to the premiere of "The Help". The whole look was fabulous from head to toe, her stylist gets two thumbs up for the look.

She wore a canary yellow shirt with a pair of blue slacks and a leopard print belt.

Rant & Review: Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette

Saturday, August 6, 2011

When I saw this palette on Urban Decay's website I knew that I wanted it but I really I didn't need it. I went back and forth about purchasing for a couple of days before I finally broke down and make this impulse buy. Once it released, it sold out immediately which made me want it even more. I went online looking for it and Ulta had it in stock so I did my happy dance. Once I received it I loved the colors and the box that it came in even though some of the colors look very similar to the colors from their previous palettes ( Naked and Rollergirl). The collectible gunmetal outer box features a luxe faceted jewel “UD” on the cover and an eye-grabbing laser-cut filigree design on the sides. Inside, the shadow tray pulls out to reveal a velvet-lined compartment that can be used to stash jewelry or personal mementos.
“Junkshow” (a bright pink), “Evidence” (a deep metallic blue) and Midnight 15 (an oyster pearl shade)
Included in this kit: Deeper (deep shimmery golden brown), M.I.A. (soft shimmery dark brown), Ace (dark gunmetal shimmer), Blackout (darkest, most saturated black), Half Truth (shimmery smoky purple), Tainted(pale matte purple with golden shimmer), Junkshow (bright pink w/fuchsia shift), Omen (shimmery metallic bright purple w/blue shift), Evidence(deep metallic blue), Deep End (bright teal shimmer), Midnight Rodeo(medium metallic brown w/silver and gold glitter), Midnight 15 (oyster pearl w/silver glitter), Vanilla (shimmery white gold), Flow (soft peach shimmer), Chase (metallic bright bronze). My favorite color is Deep End it looks gorgeous on my skin.

Top row: Midnight Rodeo, Tainted, Deeper, Midnight 15, Junkshow, M.I.A, Vanilla, Omen, Ace, Flow, Evidence and Blackout. Bottom row: Chase, Deep End and Half Truth.

Brownie of the Week: Kelly Rowland

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Kelly Rowland seems to be the "It Girl" now and I love it. Since her hit single "Motivation", Ms. Thing has been popping up everywhere and look fabulous while doing so. I cant deny that I'm so proud of her from finally stepping out of Queen Bey's shadow. Today she was named the spokesperson for Diddy's new fragrance for women called Empress. She looked gorgeous in her purple dress and silver slingback pumps.
