NYX Haul and Review

I went to Ulta last week looking for eyelashes for my prom client when I came across their NYX sale. All of their NYX products were on sale, buy two and get one free. While browsing the racks, I sae the Soft Matte Lip Cream that I have been wanting to try forever so I decided to pick up three of them. I got the following colors: Asterdam (Bright Red), Monte Carlo (Deep Crimson Red) and Addis Ababa (Hot Pink). I also picked up two liglosses in Clear and Candy Pink and a lipstick in Nude.The Nude lipstick can be a nice dupe for MAC's Lady Gaga 2 Lipstick. Check out the swatches below.

My Soft Matte Lip Cream Review:

On their website, NYX says that the product is neither lipstick or lipgloss but a lip cream. Goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish, available in 11 shades. I will say that their statement it true and I love the lip creams. The colors look great in the tube but to get the desired color payoff that I want I have to apply more than one coat. I love that the creams are bubble gum scented just like the lipglosses. They are not forgiving on dry lips, so be sure to exfoliate and moisturize before wearing them. Once applied it stays on for 3-4 hours and gives the lips a slight stain afterwards.They have a great color selection that will look great in different skin tones. My Favorite Fashion Looks at 2011 Billboard Awards

The 2011 Billboard Awards took place tonight and here are a couple of my favorite looks of the night. I wont even begin to talk about Beyonce because you already know that she's my Virgo sister and she didnt disappoint tonight she turned it all the way out. But now take a look at the fashion that I loved.

Kelly looked great with a pink bandage dress and matching makeup look. She's such a pretty girl to me I like to see her looking hot at all times. I give this look two thumbs up, I wonder if she tried to look extra hot since Beyonce was being honored lol.

I wasnt really feeling Keri's outfit but I loved her makeup tonight. She got it right for a chance, sometimes her makeup is too much when she's at events. But I commend her on this look she rocked tonight, it really brought out her eyes.

Rihanna was my favorite of the night with that white pant suit and nude heel. I noticed alot of the women on the white carpet had on nude heels, Im so glad that I brought me a pair. Rihanna looked very classy and sleek in this outfit, her hair was wild and crazy this time. She was very well put together I think her stylist and makeup artist did a wonderful job.

My Haul from the Makeup Show 2011 NY



Here it is finally!!!!!!

I know that Ive been slacking in posting about my experience at the Makeup Show 201 but it has been such a hectic week for me. I had such a great time at the Makeup Show, Im already looking forward to the next one. I went to IMATS in April and let me tell you that TMS (The Makeup Show) was 10 times better. I got such a positive vibe when I first entered the building and everyone was so nice. I was able to pick up a couple of items that I needed and more that what I actually needed. But what can I say, you could not beat the chance to take advantage of the discounts that were being offered. I finally picked up some eyeshadows from Makeup Forever. They were sold out the matte foundation that I wanted but I will pick that up from Sephora. I purchased the Z Palette, sponge wedges, cosmetic swabs, makeup wipes, beauty so clean (makeup sanitizer) and another beauty blender from Alcone. I stopped by Crown Brushes which was a madhouse by the way, I purchased the Enkore brush set. I was disappointed that Nars wasnt selling any products there, but on the bright side I was able to sign up for their professional discount program. I had made my mind up before I got to the show that I wasnt going to purchse anything from Inglot because the lines were too long and I was right. I was able to sign up for their pro discount as well so I can just go online and purchase without a crowd. I picked up the Mascara Shield for $7 its a must have for my kit. I picked a Blot Out Offensive Shine and oil control cream from Nuturing Force to help me out since Im a oily girl in the summer months. I stopped by the Kiss booth to purchase more eyelashes for my prom client. My last and final purchase was two lipsticks from MAC Pro, I brought Show Orchid and Neon Orange.

Makeup Crush: Emily B from Love & Hip Hop

I dont know how many of you watch the show on VH1 called " Love and Hip Hop" but I surely do. VH1's new docu-soap series "Love & Hip Hop" follows four women who share one common bond: their connection to the hip-hop world...through their men and their careers. One of my favorite ladies on the show is Emily B, she has a great sense of style I guess thats why she's a well know stylist in NY. The reunion show aired on Monday night and I must tell you that Miss Emily B slayed them with her look. From head to toe she definitely was killing them, I guess she was trying to make Fab see what he was missing out on. I fell in love with her makeup look, especially the smoked, winged out eye and nude lippie that she was rocking. Emily B you are my makeup crush for the week.

NYX 12th Anniversary Sale on Sunday

NYX is having a great sale on Sunday I hope that I have enough money left from the Makeup Show to buy a couple of things.

My Mini Target Haul

Yesterday I went to Target to purchase a lighted mirror for when Im applying my makeup and ended up with a couple of goodies instead.

I brought three Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color Polishes, the colors are very bright and colorful. They were on sale for $2.44. The orange color is "Crushed", the blue color is "Blue Me Away" and the darker blue is called "Mean Scene". I loved the orange color so much that I decided to polish my nails last night with it.

The next item that I purchased was Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. This one of the best mascaras that Ive ever used, it lengthens my lashes and its waterproof. It was on sale for $5.00 this week only.

The next items I purchased was the Milani Baked Blushes in Rose D'Oro and Fantastico Mauve. These blushes are great colors and Ive heard great reviews on them so I decided to pick them up for myself. The blushes are $6.99 regular price, they werent on sale.
